Veterans Memorial Park

Camping Fees
Camping fees at Southworth Memorial, Veterans Memorial, and Waldo Carlson:
The daily rate for sites with electricity is $30 per day.  The daily rate for tent only sites (no electricity) is $20 per day. The 30-day rate for Monthly sites is $600.

Importation of Firewood
Barron County and the City of Cumberland have banned the importation of firewood from outside of the county. Wood for campfires can be purchased from campground caretakers or local firewood outlets. (You must have a receipt!)

Boat Launch Fee
Waldo Carlson Park (Red Cedar Lake) and Veteran Memorial Park (Prairie Lake) have a $5.00 daily or a $20.00 seasonal boat launch fee. Boat launch permits can be purchased at the parks from the park caretakers.  Seasonal permits can be purchased on this site by choosing PERMITS on the navigation menu on the left.  Please present proof of purchase to the park caretaker at either Waldo Carlson Park or Veterans Memorial Park between May 1st and September 30th to receive your numbered sticker.  The numbered sticker entitles the purchaser to unlimited in-and-out boat launch privileges at both Veterans Memorial and Waldo Carlson Parks during the 2024 boating season.

Cancellations/Changes to Reservations
Reservations can be cancelled through the Treasurer’s Office. Reservations cancelled 30 days prior to the planned occupancy date are eligible for a refund. Reservation fees and electronic payment fees are non-refundable. Reservation changes will only be allowed if the camping reservation in question is more than 14 days out. To request a change of date, site or campground call the Caretaker or the Treasurer’s office. Reservations cancelled less than 14 days prior are not eligible for a refund or change. The camper will have to take it as is, cancel or make any changes as a drive-in when they arrive. If a campsite remains unoccupied by 3:00 pm on the following day it can be opened for drive-ins.
